BoondManager with Flexopus: Seamlessly synchronize absences
Flexopus connects to BoondManager and reads absence data directly from your HR system. This way, everyone involved knows at all times who is in the office, who is working remotely and who is absent – all without manual maintenance.
What is BoondManager synchronization?
The BoondManager integration is a one-way data interface: Flexopus reads the absence entries maintained in BoondManager and stores them internally. The connection is established via a unified API service, which ensures secure and reliable communication between the two systems.
The following data is transferred from BoondManager and stored in Flexopus:
- Employee ID and Approval ID
- Start and end date of absence
- Absence status (e.g. approved)
- Type of absence (e.g. Vacation, sick leave, parental leave) – optionally configurable
- Note regarding absence
This is exclusively a read-only synchronization: absence data cannot be changed via Flexopus.
What is the purpose of integration?
The integration ensures that absence information from BoondManager is automatically available in Flexopus. This creates transparency in everyday office life and facilitates collaboration in hybrid teams.
Typical application scenarios:
- Employees can see their own absence status directly on the Flexopus homepage.
- Teams can see at a glance who is in the office today, who is working remotely, and who is absent.
- Resource planning in Flexopus is supported by current absence data, allowing for more realistic planning of workplaces and rooms.
- In the future: Bookings can be automatically cancelled in case of absence in order to free up resources for other colleagues.
Automatic synchronization eliminates the need for manual transfer of absence data between systems – errors and duplicate maintenance are a thing of the past.
How easy is the integration?
The BoondManager integration is set up directly in the Flexopus admin area. As administrator, navigate to the integration settings, select BoondManager as the HR system and grant the necessary access rights in BoondManager. Synchronization then starts automatically.
The HRIS integration module is available as an optional add-on module and is generally available to all customers upon request.

Will sensitive HR data, such as reasons for illness, be transferred to Flexopus?
You can control that yourself. Flexopus offers the option to configure synchronization so that only the absence status ("absent") is transmitted – without specifying the reason. This way you retain full control over which information is visible in Flexopus.
What happens when an absence is changed or deleted in BoondManager?
Flexopus regularly synchronizes the data from BoondManager. Changes or deletions in BoondManager are automatically transferred to Flexopus during the next synchronization. Outdated entries will be updated or removed accordingly.
What permissions are required in BoondManager?
To set this up, you need administrator rights in BoondManager to grant Flexopus read access to the absence data. Once approved, synchronization runs fully automatically in the background.
Can Flexopus automatically cancel bookings if someone is absent?
This feature is currently under development. In the future, Flexopus will be able to automatically cancel existing bookings in the event of an absence, so that workplaces and rooms remain available for other colleagues.
Is BoondManager integration included in the Flexopus basic package?
HRIS integration is an optional add-on module and is not included in the standard package. It is generally available to all customers upon request. For more information, please contact the Flexopus team.
