HR Works with Flexopus: Automatically synchronize absences
With the Flexopus HRIS integration, absence data is automatically transferred from HR Works to Flexopus – no manual entry, no data loss.
What is HR Works synchronization?
The HR Works integration connects Flexopus to your HR system via a secure interface. Absence entries—such as vacation, illness, or other leave—are automatically retrieved from HR Works and stored in Flexopus.
Synchronization is read-only: Flexopus receives data from HR Works but does not make any changes to the HR system. Matching is based on employee email addresses. The following information is transferred:
- Employee ID and approval ID
- Start and end date of the absence
- Status of the absence (e.g., approved)
- Type of absence (e.g., vacation, illness)
What is the purpose of the integration?
The connection between HR Works and Flexopus creates greater transparency in daily office life. Once an absence is approved in HR Works, it becomes visible in Flexopus automatically—without employees or administrators having to enter anything manually.

As an administrator, navigate to the integration settings in Flexopus, select HR Works, and grant the necessary API permissions in your HR system. Flexopus will then synchronize the absence data automatically.

Questions and answers
Are personal data such as medical diagnoses transferred?
No. Only absence information relevant to planning is synchronized, such as the period, status, and type of absence. Upon request, Flexopus can be configured to display only a general "absent" status without specifying the reason for the absence.
What happens if an absence is changed or deleted in HR Works?
Flexopus regularly synchronizes data from HR Works. Changes or deletions are automatically applied, ensuring that the information in Flexopus is always up to date.
Can employees edit their absences in Flexopus?
No. The synchronization is read-only. Absences can only be created or modified in HR Works. Flexopus automatically imports the data but does not make any changes to the HR system itself.
Is the HRIS integration included in the Flexopus standard package?
The HRIS integration module is a separate add-on and is not included in the standard package. It is available to all customers upon request. Please contact us to learn more.
