HR Works with Flexopus: Automatically synchronize absences
With the Flexopus HRIS integration, absence data from HR Works is automatically transferred to Flexopus – without manual maintenance, without data loss.
What is HR Works synchronization?
The HR Works integration connects Flexopus to your HR system via a secure interface. Absence entries – such as vacation, illness or other absences – are automatically read from HR Works and stored in Flexopus.
Synchronization is read-only: Flexopus receives the data from HR Works but does not make any changes to the HR system. Matching is done based on the email address of the employees. The following information will be transmitted:
- Employee ID and Approval ID
- Start and end date of absence
- Absence status (e.g. approved)
- Type of absence (e.g. Vacation, illness)
What is the purpose of integration?
The connection between HR Works and Flexopus creates more transparency in everyday office life. Once an absence is approved in HR Works, it automatically becomes visible in Flexopus – without employees or administrators having to enter anything manually.

- Show absence status: Colleagues can see directly on the homepage who is in the office today, working remotely, or is absent.
- Improved office planning: Teams can coordinate their attendance more effectively, as absences are automatically taken into account.
- Less manual work: Absences do not need to be entered twice – once in HR Works, once in Flexopus.
How easy is the integration?
Setting up the HR Works integration is straightforward and requires no technical expertise. As an administrator, navigate to the integration settings in Flexopus, select HR Works and grant the necessary API permissions in your HR system. Flexopus then automatically synchronizes the absence data.

Will personal data such as medical diagnoses be transmitted?
No. Only absence information relevant for planning is synchronized, e.g. Period, status and type of absence. Flexopus can be configured, if desired, to display only the general status "absent", without specifying the type of absence.
What happens when an absence is changed or deleted in HR Works?
Flexopus regularly synchronizes the data from HR Works. Changes or deletions are automatically incorporated, ensuring that the information in Flexopus is always up-to-date.
Can employees manage their absences in Flexopus?
No. The synchronization is read-only. Absences can only be created or changed in HR Works. Flexopus automatically imports the data but does not make any changes to the HR system itself.
Is HRIS integration included in the standard Flexopus package?
The HRIS integration module is a separate add-on and is not automatically included in the standard package. It is generally available to all customers upon request. Feel free to contact us to learn more.
How is data transferred between HR Works and Flexopus?
Flexopus uses a specialized API provider that provides a unified interface to more than 35 HRIS systems. The connection is established via a secure API connection, for which appropriate permissions must be granted in the HR system.
