Sage HR with Flexopus: Automatically synchronize absences
Managing hybrid teams efficiently requires up-to-date information on attendance and absences. With the Flexopus Sage HR integration, absence data flows automatically from your HR system into your desk booking platform—no manual entry, no detours.
What is Sage HR synchronization?
The Sage HR integration connects Flexopus to your Sage HR system via a standardized interface. Absence data such as vacation, illness, or other leave types are automatically retrieved from Sage HR and transmitted to Flexopus.
The synchronization is read-only: Flexopus receives data from Sage HR but does not make any changes to the HR system. Data is matched using the employees' email addresses. The following information is transferred:
- Employee ID and approval status
- Start and end time of the absence
- Absence type (e.g., vacation, illness, parental leave)
- Optional note regarding the absence
If desired, you can configure the system to transmit only an "Absent" status instead of the specific absence type—for greater data minimization in daily operations.

How easy is the integration?
Setting up the Sage HR integration is straightforward and takes just a few steps. As an administrator, navigate to the integration settings in Flexopus, select Sage HR as your HRIS, and grant the necessary access permissions in Sage HR. The synchronization will then run automatically in the background.

Questions and answers
Are sensitive absence data such as medical diagnoses transmitted?
No. Flexopus only retrieves the absence data provided by Sage HR via the interface—such as the time period, status, and absence type. Diagnoses or medical details are never transmitted. Additionally, you can configure the system to transmit only a general "Absent" status without specifying the reason.
What happens if an absence is subsequently changed or deleted in Sage HR?
Flexopus regularly synchronizes absence data from Sage HR. Changes or deletions in Sage HR are taken into account and updated accordingly in Flexopus. This ensures the absence status is always up to date.
Can I control which absence types are synchronized?
Yes. Flexopus offers the ability to customize the scope of synchronized data. For example, you can specify that only certain absence types are transmitted or that all absences are displayed uniformly as "Absent"—depending on your company's requirements.
Is the Sage HR integration included in the standard subscription?
The HRIS integration module is an optional add-on and is not included in the standard subscription. However, it can be enabled for all customers upon request. Please contact the Flexopus support team for this.
What permissions are required in Sage HR?
For the integration, you must grant read access for absence data as an administrator in Sage HR. Flexopus only requires the minimum necessary access rights and does not perform any write operations on your HR system.
