What is the Brother QL-820NWBc integration?

The Brother QL-820NWBc is a professional label printer that can be connected to Flexopus via various connection options – USB, WLAN, Bluetooth and AirPrint. The integration makes it possible to automatically print a personalized visitor badge when a visitor checks in.

The printout is done directly from the Flexopus interface – without additional software or manual intermediate steps. The printer supports printing in black and optionally in black and red, so that important information on the ID card can be highlighted.

What is the purpose of integration?

The integration connects Flexopus' digital visitor management with the physical printing process. As soon as a visitor is checked in – whether by the receptionist or via a self-check-in kiosk – an ID card with the relevant information is automatically printed.

Typical use cases include:

  • Reception of business partners and external visitors with immediate ID card printing at check-in
  • Events and functions where many guests need to be registered and identified quickly
  • Offices with security requirements where visitors must be clearly identifiable at all times.

How easy is the integration?

The Brother QL-820NWBc is connected to the network or via USB once and stored in Flexopus. After that, the printing process runs fully automatically in the background – without any further configuration effort for the reception team.

The setup is completed in just a few steps and requires no special IT knowledge. The printer is ready for immediate use once it is correctly connected.

What are the advantages of integration?

  • Automatic printing: Visitor badges are printed directly at check-in upon request.
  • Multiple connectivity options: USB, WLAN, Bluetooth and AirPrint enable flexible integration into various office environments.
  • Professional appearance: Clear, legible badges with personalized visitor information
  • Optional two-color printing: Important information such as validity dates can be highlighted in red.
  • Fast reception process: Visitors are processed quickly – ideal for busy reception areas.
  • Easy setup: The printer is quick to set up and ready to use immediately.
  • Seamless integration: Fully embedded in the Flexopus visitor management workflow

Frequently Asked Questions

questions and answers

What information is printed on the visitor badge?

The ID card usually contains the visitor's name, the purpose of the visit, the date and time of the visit, and, if applicable, the name of the contact person in the company. The exact fields can be individually configured in Flexopus.

Does the printer also work without Wi-Fi – for example, via USB?

Yes. The Brother QL-820NWBc supports multiple connection types, including USB, WLAN, Bluetooth and AirPrint. Depending on the local infrastructure, the appropriate connection type can be chosen.

Which labels are needed for printing?

Suitable Brother DK label rolls are required for printing visitor badges. Flexopus recommends the compatible rollers, which are also available through the Flexopus B2B shop. The Brother DK-22205 label roll is required for optional two-color printing (black and red).

What happens if the printer is offline or there is no paper?

Flexopus detects when the printer is unavailable and provides appropriate feedback. The check-in process can still be completed – the ID card printing can be done at a later time, once the printer is ready for use again.

Is the printer also suitable for larger events?

Yes. The Brother QL-820NWBc is designed for fast, reliable printing and is therefore also suitable for events with higher visitor numbers. In combination with the Flexopus visitor management system, even larger groups can be handled efficiently.
