Deel with Flexopus: Automatically synchronize absences
The integration between Deel and Flexopus makes it possible to automatically synchronize absence data from Deel with Flexopus – without manual maintenance, without detours.
What is Deel synchronization?
The Deel integration is an HRIS (Human Resource Information System) interface through which Flexopus reads absence data from Deel and transfers it to its own platform. This is a read-only synchronization: Flexopus receives the data from Deel but does not make any changes to the original data.
The following information, among other things, is synchronized:
- Start and end date of absence
- Absence status (e.g. approved)
- Type of absence (e.g. Vacation, illness) – optionally configurable
- Additional information such as employee ID and approval reference
Absences are assigned based on the employee's email address.
What is the purpose of integration?
The integration ensures that absence information from Deel is directly visible in Flexopus – without administrators or employees having to maintain data twice.
Specifically, the connection enables the following scenarios:
- View absence status: Approved absences from Deel automatically appear in the respective person's Flexopus profile. Colleagues can see at a glance who is available today.
- Better planning of office attendance: Flexopus shows who is working in the office, who is working remotely, and who is absent. This makes it easier to plan team days and joint in-person days.
- Automatically release bookings during absences (coming soon): In the future, Flexopus will be able to automatically cancel reservations of absent employees, so that workspaces remain available for others.
How easy is the integration?
Setting up the Deel integration is straightforward and requires no technical expertise. As an administrator, navigate to the integration settings in Flexopus, select Deel as the HRIS system, and grant the necessary API permissions in Deel. Once the connection is established, Flexopus automatically begins synchronizing the absence data.

What are the advantages of integration?

- Privacy-friendly configuration: The type of absence (e.g. (Illness or vacation) can be anonymized upon request – Flexopus will then only display “absent”, without transmitting the exact reason.
- Read synchronization: Flexopus does not modify any data in Deel. Data sovereignty remains entirely with the HR system.
- Seamless integration into existing workflows: The integration fits into the existing IT infrastructure without requiring additional tools or complex configurations.

Are sensitive reasons for absence, such as illness, transmitted to Flexopus?
Not necessarily. Flexopus can be configured to synchronize only the absence status ("absent") without transmitting the exact reason. This way, companies retain full control over what information is visible on the platform.
What happens when an absence is changed or deleted in Deel?
Flexopus regularly synchronizes absence data from Deel. Changes – such as an adjustment of the time period or a cancellation – are updated accordingly in Flexopus. The data in Flexopus always reflects the current status from Deel.
Can Flexopus automatically cancel bookings if someone is absent?
This feature is currently under development. In the future, Flexopus will be able to automatically release reservations of absent employees so that the corresponding resources are available for other colleagues.
What permissions are required for the integration?
To set it up, you need administrator rights in Flexopus and the ability to grant the corresponding API permissions in Deel. Flexopus requests only the access rights necessary for synchronizing the absence data.
Is Deel integration available to all Flexopus customers?
The HRIS integration module, which also includes the Deel connection, is available as a separate module and can be added to any existing Flexopus package upon request. Just get in touch – we'll be happy to help.
