Connect Fourth with Flexopus and bring absence data from your workforce management system directly into your workplace booking. This way, all employees can see at a glance who is in the office, who is working remotely, and who is absent.
What is the Fourth Synchronization?
The Fourth integration connects Flexopus with the cloud-based workforce management system Fourth. Absence data from Fourth is automatically transferred to Flexopus via a standardized interface.
Specifically, the following information is synchronized: employee ID, start and end date of absence, status, absence type, and optional notes. Synchronization runs regularly in the background and keeps the absence status of employees in Flexopus up to date.
This is a read-only synchronization: Absence data can only be maintained in Fourth and is transferred from there to Flexopus. Editing the data via Flexopus is not planned.
What is the purpose of integration?
Integration creates transparency in everyday office life. Once an absence has been approved in Fourth, it will automatically be visible in Flexopus. Colleagues can see directly in the booking system who is present on a given day and who is not.
This significantly simplifies the planning of office attendance days: Anyone who wants to work together with the team on-site can specifically check when colleagues are available. This avoids double bookings or unnecessary trips to the office.
In the future, Flexopus should also be able to automatically cancel existing bookings when absences are recorded, so that resources can be released for other employees.
How easy is the integration?
The Fourth integration is set up directly in the Flexopus admin area. As an administrator, navigate to the integration settings, select Fourth as the HRIS system, and grant the necessary permissions in Fourth. The synchronization then starts automatically.

Will sensitive health data from Fourth be transferred to Flexopus?
No, not necessarily. Flexopus allows you to specify the absence type (e.g. to abstract away illness, vacation, parental leave). Administrators can configure the system to transmit only the "Away" status, without specifying the reason. This allows the integration to be adapted to the company's internal guidelines in compliance with data protection regulations.
What happens when an absence is changed or deleted in Fourth?
Changes in Fourth will be automatically incorporated into Flexopus during the next synchronization. If an absence is removed or corrected in Fourth, the status of the affected employee in Flexopus is updated accordingly.
Can I edit absences in Fourth using Flexopus?
No. This is a read-only integration. Absence data is read exclusively from Fourth and displayed in Flexopus. Absences can only be edited or recorded directly in Fourth.
What permissions are required for the integration?
You need administrator rights in both Flexopus and Fourth to set this up. In Fourth, the necessary API permissions must be granted so that Flexopus can read the absence data. Synchronization then takes place automatically based on the email addresses of the employees.
Is the HRIS module included in the standard subscription?
The HRIS integration module is an optional add-on module and is not included in the standard subscription. However, it is available to all customers upon request. Please contact us if you would like to use the Fourth integration.
